Gheel Autism Services provides day services for 60 adults with autism in two day centres.

The service includes two day centres, one on Milltown Road, Dublin 6 and the other is on Griffith Court, Fairview, Dublin 3.

Residents in the day centres enjoy taking part in structured day activities which include vocational, social, community and leisure skills and personal time.

Day services allow people with autism to fulfil their lives in a way that meets their individual needs.

Respite Services are provided to some day attenders who live at home because carers require support to develop their needs beyond the demanding role of full time care.

Gheel Mission Statement

"If you would help me, don't try to change me to fit your world. Don't try to confine me to some tiny part of the world that you can change to fit me. Grant me the dignity of meeting me on my own terms, recognise that we are equally alien to each other, and that my ways of being are not merely damaged versions of yours. Question your assumptions. Define your terms. Work with me to build more bridges between us." J. Sinclair: Personal Essay-High functioning individuals with autism. E. Schopler and G,.Mesibov, 1992.
